It looks like last week I launched a new series of sickly-pimply square tiles, and here's the second one :P
Well, it's nothing special, just something very simple.

Ed ecco anche il quadratino di questa settimana! L'ennesimo esperimento, stavolta più che con le paste con gli accessori per il Dremel. Purtroppo l'ho fatto in fretta e ho anche scazzato la cottura! Comunque ci si può lavorare, e con un po' di esercizio può venirne fuori qualcosa di decente.

And here's this week's tile! It's just the umpteenth experiment, this time not as much with the clay itslef, as with some drills and accessories for my Dremel tool. I made it in a hurry and also screwd up the baking part, but I think that with some exercise I can get something nice out of this technique.

un paio di regali di compleanno / two birthday presents

Ogni tanto riesco anche a fare qualcosa di diverso dai "soliti" quadratini, giuro! :D
Ad inizio aprile c'è stato il compleanno di mio fratello, che da tanto tempo mi aveva chiesto un braccialetto nuovo, perciò l'ho voluto accontentare. La placchetta è in pasta polimerica, montata su cordoncino di cotone cerato. Inizialmente l'avevo fatta piatta, perciò la parte più difficile è stata incurvarla dopo la prima cottura. Comunque sono abbastanza soddisfatta, anche se al signorino dai gusti impossibili credo non sia piaciuto.

I don't only make square tiles, I swear! :D My brother has his birtday in the first days of April, and since quite some time ago he asked me to make a bracelet for him, I came up with this one. It's made of polymer clay, as usual, and waxed cotton cord. At first the plaque was straight, and the most difficult part was to bend it when already cured.
However I'm rather pleased with the result, although I suspect it didn't meet my brother's impossible taste.

Inoltre Polymer Clay Italia ha organizzato un piccolo swap di compleanno a cui ho aderito. A fine marzo (sì, sono una ritardataria cronica) c'è stato il compleanno di Luisa, per la quale ho preparato una collana con un ciondolo che altro non è che il mio primo tentativo di "squiggly bead" nello stile di Donna Kato. Si vede poco in foto la sfumatura, ma andrebbe dal rosso all'oro.

Also, Polymer Clay Italia set up a small birthday swap in which I've taken part. At the end of March there was Luisa's birthday, and I made this necklace for her. The focal bead is nothing less than my first attempt at Donna Kato's "squiggly bead". You can't quite tell from the photo, but the red fades into a golden colour.

Mi dispiace non poter presentare niente di meglio, ma il primo esperimento è fallito miseramente e poi dopo ho avuto pochissimo tempo!
L'intento era quello di seguire il tutorial di AlessiaStre, ma le cose non sono andate come dovevano al primo tentativo; questo è il secondo e non mi soddisfa, però purtroppo non ho altro tempo libero questa settimana.

I'm sorry I don't have anything better to show, but the first experiment was a complete failure and then I simply had no time.
I was trying to follow AlessiaStre's tutorial on how to obtain a craquelé effect on polymer clay, but the first try was unsuccesful; this is the second attempt, and I cannot say I'm satisfied with it, but I don't have any time left to dedicate to clay this week.
